Our History

The National Latina Business Women Association was founded in May 2003 in Los Angeles, California with fifteen women that realized there was a need to support Latina professionals. Their vision was to establish an organization that catered to Latina business and professional women by offering programs of substance to help guide them. The initial interest from Latinas locally and across the country was overwhelming and at that point it was decided that NLBWA needed to be nationwide.

The first chapter was formed in Los Angeles with over 120 members strong within four short months. Then in August 2004 the Sacramento chapter was formed followed by the Orange County chapter in July 2004 and then the San Diego chapter in December of 2004. NLBWA officially became a national organization on December 2007 when the Atlanta, Georgia chapter was launched. Most recently, in April 2008 the Inland Empire chapter was formed.
